Turning point in Windhoek

This photo story provides a glimpse into an Intensive Workshop in Project Management held in Windhoek in November 2016.

Here, participants examine the intricacies of a large project planned in Microsoft Project.

Lysias considers the connections between events and outcomes.

Paula extrapolates further knock-on effects.

Norman adds connections to factors in his own environment.

The synergistic effect of positive inputs, outputs and outcomes are explored by Hazel.

The facilitator, Tania, questions Sackey during an own-project exercise.

The Workhop was a turning point for a number of participants. Some were able to go back to work with new confidence, having ways of communicating risk to senior stakeholders, in respect of schedules and costs. Others discovered that senior management would have to be engaged in a significant way if they were to be able to make a difference, as they had been given responsibility for tasks which were in fact beyond the span of their authority. Others discovered new avenues to explore, to optimise their work.
